Why should you be unbanned (Why should we give you a second chance?): I take full responsibility for my stupid decision making, I should never have used X-ray on a server that I was enjoying playing on but here we are. I don’t have a good reason for why I did, I think I got caught up in trying to gather enough resources for both me and my son while he was offline. It was a horrible choice on my part I should have just been patient and gathered resources the proper way. I really enjoy playing on the server it’s an amazingly welcoming and friendly community and I hope my time playing hasn’t come to an end. Having to hear my son react to seeing that I had been banned and finding out we wouldn’t be able to continue building our base together was a serious eye opener. If I’m allowed a second chance I will not make the same mistake again, I will be the member of the server that I should’ve been from the start.

Why do you want to come back:I want to come back because I really felt as though this was a server I could see me and my son playing on long term. The community is amazing, the staff have been overwhelmingly helpful and attentive. I could name a bunch more points that I really enjoyed about the server. I apologize completely and will take ownership for whatever decision is made about this appeal, but it was never my intention to mess up the economy or ruin the experience for other players. I was being selfish and did something in the heat of the moment that I know as an adult I shouldn’t have done.I hope that I can continue my time on Hometown and I am so very sorry to all members of the community for my failure to adhere to the rules of the server thank you in advance for reviewing my appeal.-Zim

Thank you for coming clean and taking the responsibility of this, this will make the process so much easier on the both of us. With that I have 3 questions that I would like for you to answer, please take your time with this and go kind of in depth (3 sentences or more please).


1. Why do you think HomeTown has rules against x-raying?

3. Describe how you will legitimately make money if you are successful in your appeal?

1. Why do you think HomeTown has rules against x-raying?
It’s a main rule on almost any server with an economy not just Hometown, it makes things completely unfair in comparison to players who are legitimately getting their resources. It’s almost akin to shooting fish in a barrel, and it causes an insane imbalance in the rng/ luck of finding ores when you know exactly where they are. It was completely unfair to use this method on a server especially with a lot of player based shops.

2. What damage could allowing x-ray do to the economy ? It has a major damaging effect as it floods the economy with the most expensive/ valuable resources while at the same time depleting store owners balance in the case of chest shops. Also it makes a mess of the area in which the X-ray is used and removes large sections of ores from being legitimately mineable for legitimate players especially in areas like the community mine. It also allows locating points of interest that otherwise may be rarer to find being looted at a way higher rate removing the chance for everyone else.

3. Describe how you will legitimately make money if you are successful in your appeal? If I am allowed back on the server I won’t be using X-ray again, I was slowly finding out how the economy actually works on the server before I went stupid. I found that there are materials you can sell to the server and not just player shops so I can create farms and mob farms to create the resources I will be able to sell rather than focusing only on deep slate diamond. I wasn’t fully aware of the other methods until the night I was banned so I will take advantage of those options and still mine but do it legitimately. Again I feel so bad for my decision, and I know it’s a lot to ask for a second chance, I will accept whatever the outcome is for this appeal and I'm sorry to the community.
