HOORAY ive found a Cave Spider spawner, i want to build a grinder round it, but i might need some help

First, if i want to retain 'ownership of it, should i claim the area round it, to stop anyone else trying to annexe it? Ill make it a publuic grinder eventually, something like /warp cspider


The actual spawner is on level 14 in a mine shaft.  I have a design  ive tried in solo creative mode, then on another server.   Basically the spawner sits in the centre of a chamber, at least 4 blocks from walls and cieiling. spiders spawn and drop onto the floor. The floor has a water flow that sweeps everything to a 3x 1 hole, along 4 blocks to a killing zone.

I know this works. The snag is the spiders are fulll health, and most it takes me two hits to kill one. I did think i could put pistons in the kill chambe rto inflict crush damage, buy then im lacking info how to do this. whats the best ay to kill a spider, to avoid it being able to hit you - ive used a kill chamber you stand on, but now and then u get thrown back by a spider, but no damage.

How would you detect when a spider is in the kill zone to activate a piston? How much crush damage does a piston do? How would i damp the spawner down when no one is there -  redstone operated lights? How far away would the kill chamber have to be be to aviod any spiders spawning inside the player area?

They're not pretty.

The wonderful and peaceful life of a heavy machinery operater. You want a easy job that pays $15hr go become a heavy machinery operater. Cost for school is low compared to other collage degrees.. Figured I'd let y'all see a little of my life everyday cause someone on the server asked me what do for a living. I am a MSHA certified Excavator, Bulldozer, and Off-road dump truck operater. I am also a OSHA certified forklift and tram rail crane operator. I also am in the local boiler makers union(aka welder).

Hello my name is DaBassGuy but you may know me as TheCowboyNation as my nickname and I am 100% new to this server. I started playing Minecraft in 2011 and was a admin for the server MCBlocks until 2015 when I quit playing. I have recently started playing Minecraft again and McBlocks doesn't seem to exist anymore and that is what has lead me to Hometown. I enjoy the Semi-Vanilla servers the most. I hope to be a welcomed and great contributing player to this community. The community online has already been great to me and I appreciate it very much. I have since started my own island and has grown a lot in just a week. I should be posting pictures soon to show it off

First I would like to introduce myself. I am DaBassGuy but my /Nick is TheCowboyNation on the SMP server. I am relatively new to the server but I have been playing Minecraft since 2011 and quit around 2015. I have just recently decided to get back into the game and the old SMP server I was a admin on is no longer around. So I did some looking and hometown became my clear choice means how it's one of the few Semi-Vanilla servers that I have come to like. My suggestion is something I did back when I was an admin for an old server. I had players build and design their own PvP arenas then would have myself or others create that certain area inside the arena PvP enabled. But I believe a better idea for this server is to let players build their own arena and then have to buy a "permit" from the donation store which would grant that player one /warp. There should be a typing box when you purchase the permit that allows the player to state what the warp name will be for said player arena. Also there should be some notification system for Admin/Mods that informs them a permit has been purchased. Once a player has build an arena and purchased a "permit" a Admin/Mod will visit the warp stated when they get on the server. They shall review the arena and either permit or explain why it isn't accepted with a sign on the arena where the player could see it and make reviews. With that all being said I believe there should be regulations for how a arena must be build to qualify. Questions or concerns regarding this project can comment or msg me. As far as regulations and or plugins are concerned, Admin/Mod can contact me for full details and ideas I have in regards to these.
