I was accompanying my friend who was showing me where items were because I have fortune and would get more items. I, myself, do not know how to xray whatsoever but realize that accompanying someone who does it is just as bad. I am bored on quarantine and have been playing hometown since my younger days and didn't take into consideration who I would affect and how it would affect them. I realize playing with my friends on quarantine and respecting other players is a lot more important than me gaining minerals in a game lol. It was immature and takes away from other players and it won't happen again. This only happened for a short period of time around 2 days, today and yesterday. All other stuff is legit.
I would like to come back because I enjoy hometown's community and my living area with my friends. Hometown gives me a way to entertain myself while on lockdown. I realize being with my friend gives us an unfair advantage compared to other players and i would like to continue playing with my other friends and building our community we have started.
Hi, I've found the chat frequently spammed with joke auctions recently.
You maybe be saying, "/auc optout," but the problem with this is that it is only certain auctions which are problematic. I do genuinely wish to see other auctions, but the joke auctions with renamed items get annoying at some point. They take up a lot of space in chat and are brightly colored. Again, I do not want to /auc optout because it would leave me out of genuine auction notifications that I would not like to miss out on.
I am not sure of a solution to this problem as of yet, but I thought I might start a discussion on this issue.
Hi everyone! I never really introduced myself but I am Kandee12, I have been playing this server since around August of 2016! But I have been playing minecraft for a lot longer than that, probably since 2011! In August of 2016 is also when I met a lot of my good friends, specifically flufflecakes (awelaa)! I really love this server though! It's not like the rest of them, its so much better. It's the type of server I always feel welcome and at home when I am on. Everyone is so kind and players still recognize me from when I played back then! I haven't played in a little over a year or more so I thought this would be appropriate to post since I came back onto HT this week! I just wanted to come on here and introduce myself! The long overdue return of miss "Flufflecakes" has come around. Flufflecakes was my first Minecraft account I used from 2011 up until 2018. I first found Hometown in August of 2016 where I met a friend by the name Kandee12, who I have kept contact with ever since and have now returned as Awelaa along with.
After about a year of playing, Hometown became a distant memory, as I slipped out of the online world and was faced with the real world challenges that needed to be addressed. Corona Virus quarantine has birthed a new era for Flufflecakes and Awelaa. It's good to be back. Hope to meet a lot of you guys. Feel free to comment!
Why should you be unbanned: Banned. This is a position I thought I wouldn't be, nor wanted ever to be in again. I'm very sorry for the plot I took part in, and I'm sure iiiMonkey did not mean for it to go as far as it did. However after seeing the outcome, how it wasted both our/the staff team's time and resulted in his permanent ban, I realize that this was an immature action that got us nowhere better than where we were before. I had warned him in a discord PM that it might not be a good idea (screenshot should be attached to the post, but otherwise I can send it to you on Discord if you would like) but he insisted, and in the end I agreed to it because he is one of my friends that I even used to go to school with, and because I was only playing a minor part that couldn't be too harmful. Yes, we had our occasional talks about who we thought was actually X-raying and who was not, but it was entirely his idea and the only part I served was to be online so that he could /msg me that he had found ores and that "staff will think [he's] cheating." However small the part I played, though, I was still a part of it and I'm deeply sorry for the troubles we've caused. I have learned my lesson and I understand that this was a pain in the ass for you to have had to deal with, but I hope you will consider my appeal. I know this is my second strike, and that if I screw up just once more, it's over for me. Though it would sadden me, I understand if you decide not to unban me and once again, I'm very sorry on both iiiMonkey's and my behalf.
Why do you want to come back: This server has such a great community that I've made many friends on. I've never, in my 6?7? years of playing Minecraft, encountered a server that I enjoy as much as I do this one, and I'd hate to have to leave it behind. I'd even accept a temporary ban if necessary, as long as I would be able to play on the server again.
Reason for your ban: Griefing old spawn (The spawn where it was still a village i think)
Who banned you: I don't remember, I was banned five or four years ago and it doesn't say who I got banned by. It only says "Reason for ban: fuck you."
Why should you be unbanned: I get that you all might not trust me at first, but I'm truly sorry for griefing spawn. I was young and immature. I was mad that my friend got banned for xraying when she said she wasn't, so I decided to take my anger out by griefing spawn - this was in 2015-2016, I was still like 10 or 11 lol, I don't even remember. Once again, I'm sorry. If you decide not to unban me, please just forgive me.

Why should you be unbanned: I should be unbanned because I did not x-ray, and I'm aware that this ban is no appeal. But I must say something. Ever since I was banned, I learned my lesson, and never touched a cheat again. I was falsely incriminated, and I know I'm not the first to be. I was never used X-ray at all since December. I've learned something though. I don't mean to sound rude, but I've realized that staff believe that random mining + finding ores = x-ray. This is simply not the case. It never will be. Ores are extremely common through out the world; they make up a large portion of it. In this instance, I was falsely banned after mining. There was no evidence that I was x-raying, and if there is I'd like to see it, but I won't, since there is none. I have proof that I'm innocent, and that I wasn't cheating, or x-raying like you suspect. Before banning people without evidence please, listen to their points. If you want to hear about the evidence, well, it will prove my innocence. I'm sure of it. By using a screen recorder, I recorded the entire session I was on (the one I was jailed and banned during). I have the file. I don't know how to send it to you, or how you'd prefer it but I'm telling the truth. I did not x-ray. I'd never do it again on this server. Why do you want to come back: I really enjoy playing on the server with all of my friends I've made. It's one of the best I've come upon, and out of the dozens of servers I have visited I have never been able to find one as fun and well-made as this one.
Why should you be unbanned: Okay, I am in a difficult position so I will try my best to reconcile it by being 100% up front and honest. I am not trying to avoid taking responsibility, I am not trying to weasel my way out of anything, I just want to explain myself so hopefully things can be worked out. I realize how dumb this may sound and how it may sound like I'm simply lying,but I was not x-raying. I realize that this is what all x-rayers say but I legitimately was not x-raying. Firstly, I would like to say that I acknowledge how x-raying is awful. It is a cheat that seriously ruins SMP servers like hometown and never in a thousand years would I succumb to using it. It isn't fair to those who earn money legitimately and it can easily ruin server economies. I 100% do not condone its usage and think it is a cheap and dirty hack to use. In realizing that it is hard defend myself in saying that I wasn't using it, I will try my best to be honest at every turn and try to explain my behavior. I'll start from the beginning. I had just started playing on the server again and was advised that the quickest way to earn money was by mining. I had earned about a thousand dollars by selling items from the drop party and thus quickly invested in a god pick and devoted myself to mining. At least initially, I was mining with XRenaissance who I bet could also testify that I was mining in my legitimate fashion. My mining style is odd, but I believe I have perfected it after years of play. I /wild, dig about either in zig zags or straight strips (I also hope to find caves or ravines to make it easier). Then, every so often, I dig perpendicular to my tunnel from my position as far as my reach allows because I believe that allows me to uncover some ores that are hiding from my 1 block tunnel or Cave limited point of view and this sometimes works, but it oftentimes does not as well. I'm sure evidence will show that I dig these off-shoot tunnels and find nothing but cobblestone many times. I will say this, over the last couple of days my mining efforts have been more lucky than I could've hoped and sometimes I would dig a tunnel and soon find diamond and I would literally think "Oh my lord, they're gonna think I'm x-raying" and sometimes I almost even said this in chat but decided against it because it might needlessly incriminate myself. In general, I believe that my odd mining style (which I would be glad to elaborate more on) in combination with a decent amount of luck (even though there were stretches where I found nothing but cobble) attributed to what may seem like x-ray. I even dreaded this combination when I was mining but figured I was being paranoid. I realize that this combination of factors may clearly seem like an x-rayer trying to cover for himself, and there's not much I can do against this. I am trying to be as thorough and honest as possible and I will cooperate with all future inquiry too, but you must believe me I was not x-raying. Another thing is that I would always bring plenty of torches with me and keep my mining well-lit. This may be wrong but I think x-rayers do not need to use torches. There was one time I was mining a tunnel in the dark with my screen brightness on max and my face pushed closer to the screen because I was too lazy to grab more torches but in general I always use torches. There also must be evidence of me /wild'ing to places, digging straight down and then digging some short tunnels only to find nothing and then /wild'ing to another location to try my luck again. I could be wrong but I don't think x-rayers do this. With my luck, came many periods of the worst luck, where I just mined basic ores and cobble for a while, hopefully this shows and at least slightly bolsters my case. I apologize for the lengthy appeal I just really am trying to show all the evidence that might even slightly suggest that I was not x-raying. I wish I had more evidence than logic, but I will keep trying. I literally dreaded that this might happen whenever I found diamonds quickly so maybe I should've taken some screenshots or something. You can ask XRenaissance and I bet he would be able to testify that there were times when I couldn't find a dang thing and how I mined a straight tunnel for who knows how long. I can't do much but promise you that I was not using x-ray, and hope that this lengthy, thorough appeal gives that notion credit. If I was x-raying I would have simply owned up to it and pledged to do better, but I really was not using x-ray hacks. If you would like more explanation I would gladly give it to you, I realize my situation and will do almost anything to reconcile it but I really think this is a misunderstanding. I spent hours mining, in my thorough, yet odd, style and had some luck and some misfortune. I was partially with a friend who can hopefully back me up. I used tons of torches in almost all my mining efforts. I would never betray the server that I love and hopefully this degree of explanation reflects that. Using x-ray on a server like this would be an awful thing to do, and I recognize that and would never ever do it. Please believe me. Also, I mined all different types of ores, even though I was targetting diamond, and if I'm not mistaken, most x-rayers seldom pay attention to these other materials, like coal, of which I mined many stacks.
Why do you want to come back: I just began to play hometown again after months of being unable to. I love playing on this server and would never intentionally break the rules. I 100% understand the actions of the staff. I realize how part of my mining efforts may have seemed suspect, and am not mad at them, I simply believe that there is a misunderstanding here. I love the community of a server like this and I was playing with a good friend. I would not have wanted to ruin it by using an awful cheat. I even bought VIP2 because I love the server so much. It truly is a remarkable server and I really want to be a part of it again. I promise I will never use any cheats, and that I never have. They create unfair advantages and honestly ruin the work of many and the general honest vibe of a server like hometown. If I am let back on, I pledge to continue to be straightforward with my affairs and be honest in my play. I was not using x-ray hacks and I would happily explain myself further if it will help let me back on. I love this server and would never jeopardize my connection with it. I realize the weaknesses of my argument but I implore you to recognize my thoroughness and straightforwardness. Please believe me. Thank you for considering me.
